Week in Review-College Commits

Cedar Rapid's Andy Simpson has commited to play hockey at Dartmouth College following his USHL career. Simpson has 2 points, a goal and an assist, in 37 games with the RoughRiders this year. Simpson is solid defensively and should make a fine college defenseman.

Jarrod Mermis, a forward for the Lincoln Stars, commited to Denver University for next season. I know I posted Mermis' and Lauwers' commits on last week's "Week in Review", but now it's USHL official, so I thought I'd post it again. Mermis has 13 points through 37 games with the Stars this year. A little bit of unofficial information, Jarrod's brother Dakota also commited to DU.

Another Star, Dax Lauwers, commited to play hockey at Army following his USHL playing time. Lauwers' is very solid defensively and you can see a report I wrote on him here. Lauwers has 3 points through 47 games.

Troy Grosenick, goalie for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders commited to Union College for next year. Grosenick has a record of 22-14-4 and a 2.83 GAA on the year.

David Boehm of Cedar Rapids commited to play for Bemidji State next season. Boehm has helped the RoughRiders quite a bit, gaining 22 points in 16 games this year.

Keep it clean, and don't attack individual players.
